As an important way to carry out its non-governmental diplomatic activities, the All-China Women’s Federation has been engaged in developing bilateral exchanges with women organizations, women institutions and women groups of all countries. ACWF has invited  women’s groups from other countries, send groups of Chinese women to visit abroad, arranged visits for the wives of diplomatic envoys resident in China, and conducted many types of exchange activities with foreign visitors to China. All these efforts have contributed to  better understanding between women of China and women of other countries, and strengthened world-wide friendships among .

By the end of 1998, the All-China Women’s Federation had established friendly relationships with over 697 women’s and children’s institutions, and organizations from more than 151 countries and regions.
