At the invitation of the All-China Women's Federation, a five-member delegation of the Bangladesh-China People's Friendship Association, headed by Professor Shahria Akhter Bulu, a member of Bangladesh's parliament and a patron of the Bangladesh-China People's Friendship Association, visited China from March 1-11.

    Gu Xiulian, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation, met the delegation and hosted a banquet in honor of the guests.

    Bangladeshi guests attended a reception to celebrate International Women's Day (March 8), held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Prior to arriving in Beijing, they traveled to some areas inhabited by ethnic groups in Yunnan Province, to witness the development of local women.
