The project is a bilateral initiative between the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and UK's Department for Inter national Development (DFID).

    The four-year project, implemented in 2002, is designed to improve the foundation, livelihood and life skills of poor adolescent girls aged 15-18, and to involve them in local economic and social development. The project is also designed to optimize the subsistence and development environment for adolescent girls, by raising gender awareness of government officials and the public.
