Dec. 30th, 2002 is the day when the Arab Ambassadors' Spouses' Group in Beijing made donation to MiLiangTun Elementary School at YanQing County. Before starting to the School, Mme. Gu Xiulian, vice-president of ACWF friendly met with the members of the Group, talked about the friendship between Chinese Women and Arabic Women and expressed her gratuities on behalf of ACWF to the Group for their efforts to support the girl's education in the poor area in China. After that, the Group accompanied by Mrs. Long Jiang Wen , deputy director general of the International Liaison Dept. and other staff of ACWF went to the school to donate. The donation of 45,000RMB was from the charity sales of the Group. Mrs. Nehad R. Sukayri, Chairperson of the Group and wife of the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was delighted in supporting Chinese education and wished a further development of friendship and cooperation between Chinese Women and Arabic Women.
At lunchtime, Ambassadors' Spouses were very interested in learning to make dumpling and enjoyed Chinese food culture such as hand-pulled noodles, food carving and etc. After lunch, they visited the Asia game village's community, watched the performance of Chinese dancing, opera and fashion show by the residents of the community, went around the library and calligraphy-painting club and even sang a song with the chord.
Among those Group members presenting at the activities were the wives of ambassadors from 12 countries including Jordan, Libya, Somali, Palestine, Mauritania, Lebanon, Qatar, Syria, Djibouti, Tunisia, Algeria and Yemen.
