At the invitation of All-China Women's Federation, the 40-member Bahrain Women's delegation, headed by H.H. Shaikha Sabeeka Bint IbrahimAl-Khalifa , the spouse of H.M. king of Bahrain ,Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women of the Kingdom of Bahrain came to China by her private plane and paid a friendly visit to Beijing and Shanghai from Sept. 10 to Sept 20, 2002.

During their visit in Beijing, Mme. Wu Yi, State Councillor, met with the key members of the delegation. Mme. Peng Peiyun, Vice Chairperson of Standing Committee of National People's Congress and President of All-China Women's Federation, met with the whole delegation and hosted a banquet for them. Mme Peng Peiyun, representing All-China Women's Federation, signed the 《Memorandum of Cooperation between All-China Women's Federation and the Supreme Council for Women of the Kingdom of Bahrain》. Mr. Wang Wenyuan, Vice President of CPPCC, also met with the key members of the delegation . Mme Hua Fuzhou, Vice President of ACWF, accompanied the delegation throughout their visit to China. Mme Zhao Shaohua, member of the Secretariat of ACWF, presided a working meeting with the delegation. The delegation visited the headquarters of ACWF, Women's Studies Institute of ACWF, Women's Foreign Language's Publications of China and accepted an interview by the journalists from the Publications. The delegation also paid a visit to Guang An Men Chinese Medical Hospital and China Women's College. At the College, H.H. Shaikha Sabeeka Bint IbrahimAl-Khalifa made a speech and she was awarded with the title of Honorary Professor . The delegation toured the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and was invited to watch Beijing Opera. In Shanghai, Mr. Zhou Murao , Vice Mayor of Shanghai met with the whole delegation and hosted a banquet in their honor. The delegation visited Shanghai Municipal Vocational Training Center, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, APEC Meeting Site and Shanghai Arts and Crafts Institute,Yu Yuan Garden and Pudong Industrial Development Zone. H.H. Shaikha Sabeeka Bint IbrahimAl-Khalifa was interviewed by 《YOU》magazine.
