Romanian
Women's Delegation Visited China
|
| Under
the invitation of All-China Women's Federation,
a Romanian women delegation made up by Ms. Georgeta
Adam, Chairwoman of ARIADNA---The Romanian Women
Journalists Association, and Ms. Elena Cervinschi,
President of Romanian Abolitionist Society &
International Foundation ALCOR, visited China from
September 1 to 11. Mme. Zhao Shaohua, Member of
the Secretariat of All-China Women's Federation
met with the delegation and also hosted a banquet
for them. During their visit in Beijing, the delegation
had meetings with All-China Women's Federation,
the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry
of Education, the State Commission of Family Planning
and the Judicial & Internal Affairs Committee
of the National People's Congress. The delegation
also visited Chinese Women's College, the Maple
Hotline for Women, the Projects Center of Rural
Women Knowing All, Half of Sky Program of China
Central TV Station, and China Radio International.
The delegation also went to Tianjin City and visited
the Reemployment and Venture Creation Project for
Laid-off Women workers, as well as paid a visit
to Shenzhen and Shanghai afterwards. The delegation
was impressed by the great achievements since China's
reform and opening up, and the progress made in
women and children's cause in China. Both the two
ladies from Romania said they would pass on the
information they acquired though the visit to their
fellow people and sisters in Romania.
