| The
5th Sino-Isreali Workshop on Women in Development
co-held by All-China Women's Federation and Haifa
The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training
Center under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Isreal was held on Jinggang Mountain, Jiangxi Province
from Aug. 5 to Aug. 15. Nighteen participants took
part in the workshop. They came from Beijing, Qinghai,
Xinjiang, Zhengjiang, Yunnan and Jiangxi provinces
as well as some departments of ACWF (the International
Liaison Dept., General Administration Department
and the Children's Welfare Department).
Major topics covered by the workshop includ community
research, program planning, leadership, consultation
and mediation, etc. The trainees were much satisfied
with the workshop and said the workshop was practical,
flexible and enlightening. They hope there will
be more opportunities to participate in such training
workshops. The Israeli experts were also pleased
that the workshop was held in a different city
other than Beijing and said they hoped future
workshops could also be held where they were most
needed and more people in charge of organizing
training sessions from the women's federations
could participate so that the workshops could
benefit more people working for women's advancement
at the grassroots.
