In Beijing, Mme. Peng Peiyun, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of ACWF held talks with the delegation and hosted the welcoming dinner. Mme. Hua Fuzhou, Vice president of ACWF also met the delegation and Mme. Zhao Shaohua, Member of the Secretariat of ACWF held a discussion with the delegation. The Uganda delegation visited China Women's College, a children's home, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. In Anhui province, the delegation visited bamboo sculpture workshop and chicken farm run by women. In Shanghai, they visited Threegun underwear factory, Longfeng Food Corp. Ltd., local communities as well as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

The delegation was appreciative of the micro-credit schemes and skill training programs run by ACWF for rural women of China. Mme. Mutaway said "A saying in Uganda goes "sharing of knowledge can light each other's candles", we look forward to further exchanges and cooperation with ACWF to bring the candle light of wisdom farther and to more people". The delegation also shared a high opinion of the urban development in China and said efforts by the Chinese government were really human-centered. Mme. Mutaway expressed thanks on behalf of Uganda National Women's Commission to ACWF for the donation of computers and sewing machines last year and expressed her hope for strengthened exchanges and cooperation with ACWF in all areas.
