Oct.1 - 15,2002, at the invitation of Spanish Instituto de la Mujer and Belgium French Women's Council, a 4-member Chinese women's delegation headed by Mme. Hua Fuzhou, Vice President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), attended the Third World Rural Women Conference in Marid, and visited the Spain and Belgium. The visit restored ACWF relationship with Spanish Instituto de la Mujer, which has broken off since 1980s. The delegation held discussions and exchanged ideas with high level officers in the two countries, including the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs in Spain, President of the Mixed Women's Rights Committee of the Spanish Senate and House of Representatives, First Vice Premier and Minister of Labour and Equal Opportunities of Belgium, Belgium Senator, Governor of Brussels Capital Region of Belgium, head of the House of Representatives in Brussels Capital Region, Mayor of Brussels, etc. The delegation also attended the special session on implementation of the Platform of Action of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Belgium Federal Parliament.
