The meeting was co-chaired by Tanya Lary, Project Team Leader from CIDA and Chen Rui, Senior Program Officer from MOFTEC. The participants first listened to PMO Co-Team Leader's report on Year 4 highlights and results achieved to date and deliberated the assessment review report. It was agreed that ACWF PMO worked hard in the first year after the project administrative responsibilities were transferred and had achieved expected results of the project. The project review group gave positive appraisal to the work in Year 4.

It has been recognized that good results were achieved and that the funds were well managed during the first four year of the project. All partners involved agreed to a one-year extension of the project until March 2004 to ensure project sustainability.

Year 5 Annual Work Plan was approved. It was decided that next year's joint project steering committee meeting be held in China at the end of May 2003.
