ĦĦĦĦAt the invitation of All-China
Women's Federation, an 5-member American women's
delegation headed by Mme. Juana Conrad, President
of Women for International Peace and Arbitration
(WIPA) visited Beijing, Lanzhou and Zhangxian
in Gansu Province, Kunming and Lijiang in Yunnan
Province from June 6-17, 2002.
ĦĦĦĦDuring the trip, the delegation visited the
Legal Aid and Service Center for Women in Yanqing,
Beijing to learn various kinds of activities on
anti-domestic violence in the county; the Spring
Bud Class in Zhangxian County, Gansu Province
sponsored by WIPA for 3 years, and presented calculators
and other stationeries to the girls in the Spring
Bud Class; Mother Water-tank Project in Shilin
County and Naxi (minority) women's cultural and
production activities in Lijiang. The delegation
commented highly on the practical and grassroots-oriented
working style of ACWF.
