On March 4th , 2002 just before the world's women are going to celebrate "3·8" International Women's Day, H. E. Mr. Saleh A. Al-Bouanin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar, on behalf of SHEIKHA Muzah Bint Nasser Abdullah Al-Misnad, Consort of the Emir of the State of Qatar and President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, donated US$500,000 to the All-China Women's Federation, the ceremony of which was held in Jian Guo Garden Hotel and attended by 80 people including ACWF leaders and Ambassadors and their wives of Arabian countries.
　　Mme. Gu Xiulian, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of ACWF delivered an ebullient speech at the ceremony, in which she praised and sincerely thanked SHEIKHA Muzah for her great affection for Chinese people and Chinese women and her contribution to Chinese women's advancement. Mme. Gu also expressed her thanks towards the embassies of Arabian countries in China including that of the State of Qatar for their positive efforts in promoting the friendly cooperation between the women and peoples of China and Arabian countries.
　　H. E. Mr. Saleh A. Bouanin, H. E. Mr. Muftah O. Madi, Chairperson of the Arab Ambassadors' Council and Ambassador of Libya, Mrs. Nehad R. Sukayri, Chairperson of the Arab Ambassadors' Spouses' Group and wife of the Ambassador of Jordan, all delivered speeches at the ceremony. They briefed on the important role of Arabian women in history as well as in the current society and highly appraised the great contributions by Chinese women and the All-China Women's Federation to social progress and the development of mankind. They also expressed their wish to further enhance the friendly cooperation between the women and women's organizations of China and Arabian countries.
