On the afternoon of January 24th, Mme. Peng Peiyun,
Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the
National People's Congress and President of ACWF
met with Mme. Suzanne Mubarak, the old friend of
Chinese people and Chinese women, once again at
the office building of ACWF. Madam Suzanne Mubarak,
First Lady of Egypt, was then accompanying the President
of Egypt visiting China.
On behalf of ACWF and herself, Mme. Peng Peiyun,
first of all, extended warm welcome to Mme. Suzanne
Mubarak, First Lady of Egypt, Chairperson of Egyptian
National Council for Woman, and President of Egyptian
National Council for Childhood and Motherhood. During
the meeting, Mme. Peng Peiyun highly appraised the
friendly relationship and cooperation between Egypt
and China. She said it was satisfying to know that
the Egyptian sisters was now playing an important
role and had made great achievements in their country's
political participation and economic construction.
She also expressed her appreciation for Mme. Mubarak's
persistent efforts on the advancement of women and
children and in promoting the friendly relationship
between the women of the two countries. Peng believed
that this visit of Mme. Mubarak would surely further
strengthen the friendly cooperation between the
two peoples, especially between the women and women's
orgnizations of the two countries. On behalf of
ACWF, Mme. Peng Peiyun reiterated her invitation
to the First Lady to head Egyptian Women's delegation
to China next time at her convenience.
Mme. Suzanne Mubarak said that it was just
like a reunion with one's sister to meet with
Mme. Peng Peiyun again. She briefed on the Egyptian
National Council for Women and the Association
of Arabic Women. After thanking Mme. Peng for
her busy time, Mme. Mubarak expressed her wishes
for an intensifying cooperative tie with ACWF
in future.
