Jan. 19th 2002, Mme. Gu Xiulian, Vice-President
and First Member of the Secretariat of ACWF, met
with and threw a luncheon in China Women's Activities
Center for Mme. Satu Hassi, Minister for Environment
of Finland who was then in Beijing to attend the
First ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) on Environment
Minister's Meeting. Mme. Gu gave a brief introduction
to the activities of ACWF, especially on environmental
protection. Mme. Hassi also briefed on the women's
political representation in politics and women's
role in environmental protection. Both agreed that
relationship between agencies on women in China
and Finland should be strengthened. Mr. Benjamin
Bassin, Finnish Ambassador to Beijing attended the
meeting. |
