ĦĦAt the invitation of Botswana Council of
Women, Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social
Development and National Women's Council
of Uganda, and Ministry of Women's Affair
and Youth Development of Nigeria, the 4-member
women's delegation headed by Mme. Hua Fuzhou,
Vice-President of All-China Women's Federation,
visited Botswana, Uganda and Nigeria from
15th October to 1st November 2001.
ĦĦDuring the visit, the delegation was warmly
received by the government, the people and
women of the relevant countries. The delegation
not only exchanged experiences with the
women's organizations on women's participation
in politics and economy and women's self-development,
but also women's projects including factories,
countryside, kindergartens, women and youth
activity centers. The delegation contacted
a wide-range of grass-root people of the
three countries. The visit strengthened
mutual understanding, deepened the friendship
and successfully fulfilled its purpose.
ĦĦAt several occasions such as welcome ceremonies,
working conferences, etc, the governments
of the three countries and leaders of women's
organizations expressed their appreciation
for the policy of reform and opening-up
of China and the achievements of Chinese
women, and spoke highly of the sino-african
relationship and friendly exchanges between
the women's organizations. The three countries
extended their sincere thanks for the material
assistance offered by All-China Women's
Federation.
