From June 4 to 9, the World Food Program (WFP) checked and accepted the completed WFP China 4071 Project in three targeted counties, Pengyang, Longde and Guyuan in Ninxia Hui Autonoumous Region.

WFP China 4071 Project is one composed of 13 subprojects in the areas of water conservancy and irrigation, water and soil conservation, forestation, transforming sloping field into terrace and Women in Development etc.. The Ninxia Hui Autonomous Region Women's Federation took the responsibility of implementing the subproject of Women in
Development.

During the past five years, 400 training classes had been conducted with more than 10,000 local women becoming literate. More than 24,039 women learned 1 or 2 practical skills through 480 terms of technical training. Apart from these, over 12.1 million RMB was granted to 13,188 poor women as micro credits for income-generating activities such as cultivation, breeding aquatics, processing and trading industry.
