A
team composed of officers and staff from
the Ministry of Public Security, UNICEF
as well as the All-China Women's Federation
paid a visit to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous
Region from June 12 to 16, 2001, to conduct
situation assessment of cross-border trafficking
between China and its neighboring countries.
With UNICEF's support, it is hoped that
a project plan could be formulated to develop
collaborative efforts with neighbouring
countries such as Vietnam to address cross-border
trafficking.
The Inspection team was briefed on the work
done by the local public security bureau
and women's federation, and went to two
board cities, Pingxiang and Dongxing for
field visits.
