The Third Substantive Session of the Preparatory Committee for the Special Session of the General Assembly on Children was convened at the UN headquarter in New York from June 11 to 15. During the session, discussions had been held on the Report of the UN Secretary-General entitled We the Children: End-decade review of the follow-up to the World Summit for Children and the draft outcome document entitled A World Fit for Children, and consensus on the organizational works of the Special Assembly had been reached. With the consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, the All-China Women's Federation sent two representatives to observe the session and participate in the NGO side events.
