Upon the invitation of
the All-China Women's Federation, Dominican
Labor Party Women's Delegation of three
headed by Madam Lourdes Mercedes, Secretary
of Women's Affairs of Dominican Labor Party,
visited Beijing, Shandong and Shanghai from
June 12th to 22nd. They were met with Madam
Tian Shulan, Vice President and Member of
the Secretariat of ACWF when they were in
Beijing. They also paid formal calls to
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Liaison Department of the Central Committee
of CPC.

Dominican Labor
Party Women's Delegation visited a high-tech
Agro-garden in Taian, Shandong Province
to learn the role of women in high-tech
agriculture.
The delegation went to
urban and rural areas to visit with great
interest the women's projects initiated
by women's federations in each city. They
also visited China College of Women, Women
and Children's Cultural Palace as well as
Community Activity Centers, Laid-Off Workers
Reemployment Centers and other public benefit
facilities sponsored by the government.
The delegation learnt the situation of Chinese
women and children and the organizational
structure of ACWF, conducted profound and
wide exchanges with women's federations
at various levels, and spoke highly of the
great achievements of China's economic construction
and the work of the women's federations.
The delegation believed that China has made
the splendid achievements because under
the socialist system the party and the government
proceed from the interests of the people
with the purpose of improving citizens'
living standards. They also believed that
with the great support from the party and
the country, women's federations at various
levels has done a great deal of useful work
and gained valuable experience in improving
women's capacity, promoting gender equality
and especially in fighting against poverty.
