On May 17th, under the
invitation of the China People's Association
for Friendship with Foreign Countries and
the Austrian Embassy
in Beijing, Mme. Gu Xiulian, Vice-President
and Member of the Secretariat of All-China
Women's Federation and other two people
from ACWF attended the reception held in
the Great Hall of People on the occasion
of welcoming the visiting President of Austria
and celebrating the 30th anniversary of
the establishment of diplomatic relation
between China and Austria.
On
May 25th, Mme. Feng Cui, Member of the Secretariat
of All-China Women's Federation met with
Mrs. Jytte Hilden, Chief of Cultural Affairs
of Nanish Royal Library and wife the Foreign
Minister of Denmark Mr. Mogens Lykketoft
who was in Beijing for the 3rd Meeting of
Foreign Ministers of Asia and Europe. Mrs.
Hilden Herself used to be Minister for Culture
and Minister for Science. Mme. Feng Cui
briefed the old friend on the All-China
Women's Federation and its activities, in
which Mrs. Hilden showed much interest.
The wife of the Danish Ambassador in Beijing,
the wife of Chinese Ambassador to Denmark
and concerned people from Ministry of Foreign
Affairs attended the meeting.
On
May 25th, Mme. Feng Cui, Member of the Secretariat
of All-China Women's Federation met with
Mrs. Christa Nickels, Chair of the Human
Rights Committee of German Parliament, and
exchanged views on the status and human
rights of women. Both expressed the wish
of staying in touch and future cooperation.
On
May 27th, with the request of the Greek
Embassy in Beijing, Mme. Peng Peiyun, President
of All-China Women's Federation met with
and hosted a banquet for H.E. Mme. Elissavet
Papazoi, Alternate Foreign Minister of Greece.
The participants include Mme. Mo Wenxiu,
Member of Secretariat of ACWF, H.E. Mr.
Ioannis Theophanopoulos, Greek Ambassodor
to China, Mrs. Theophanopoulos, and relevant
people from the Dept. of Western Europe
of Foreign Ministry and from the International
Liaison Dept. of ACWF. Mme. Peng Peiyun
and Mme. Papazoi shared information on women
in politics and women organizations in their
respective countries. Mme. Peng Peiyun also
expressed the wish to strengthen contacts
and exchanges with women in Greece.
