The 57th Session of UN Human Rights Commission was convened in Geneva during March 19 to April 27, 2001. Representatives from All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) attended the Session during April 4-17. ACWF representatives addressed the meeting under agenda item "civil rights and political rights" and the item on women. ACWF also made a joint statement with other NGOs from China under agenda item on children. Highlights of these statements include: condemning US violation of children's rights in other countries, condemning Japan's attempts to whitewash wartime aggression and distort history, and exposing the crimes committed by Falungong Cult including destroying the well-being of women and children. During the session, ACWF representatives participated in various NGO activities and had extensive exchanges with other NGO participants.
