Concern and Efforts on Anti-Trafficking
in Women and Children
The
problem of trafficking in women and children
has become a concern of the international
community in recent years. Developed nations,
including USA and Australia are actively
seeking international cooperation. Recently,
diplomats of the American Embassy, upon
the request of US Department of State, came
to ACWF to learn the Anti-Trafficking efforts
made by the women's federation system. The
Chief of Newsweek Beijing Bureau conducted
an interview specifically on Anti-Trafficking
Issue in ACWF. In addition, AUSAID is planning
to sponsor ASEAN Secretariat to launch an
ASEAN Regional Project against Trafficking
in Women and Children, which covers ASEAN
countries and China's Yunnan Province. The
Project Identification Mission consulted
ACWF for information and suggestions.
