issues on talented women, and to promote the development of
talented women and encourage their full participation in the
economic development, reform and opening up of China.
Women's NGOs of
various interests mushroomed after the 1980s. Among them are
the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs; the Women's
Committee of Western Returned Scholars Association; the Chinese
Women Geological Workers' Committee of the Geological Association
of China, the Women Mayors Chapter of the China Association
of Mayors; the Women's Committee of the Society for the Advancement
of Revolutionary Base Areas;, China Women Scientific and Technological
Workers Association; the China Women Tourism Committee of
the China Tourism Association; the Committee of Chinese Women
City Planners of the Chinese City Planners Association; the
China Women Judges Association; the China Women Procurators
Association; the China Women Photographers Association; the
Women Entrepreneurs' Association of the All-China Federation
of Industry and Commerce and the Society of Chinese Women
Doctors.
Women's working
committees have been set up in all eight of the democratic
parties in China: the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese
Kuomintang; the China Democratic League; the China Democratic
National Construction Association; the China Association for
Promoting Democracy; the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic
Party; the China Zhi Gong Dang; the Jiu San Society and the
Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League.
