To consolidate unity among women of all nationalities
in China, to develop friendly relations with women and
women's organizations in Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan province
and with overseas Chinese women and to promote the great
cause of China's reunification. To actively develop friendly
exchanges with women and women's organizations of other
countries, to enhance better understanding, friendship
and cooperation, and to safeguard world peace.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
ACWF practices
an organizational system of local women's federations
and group members. Local women's federations are set up
according to the State administrative divisions. Women
workers' committees of trade unions at all levels are
group members of the women's federations at respective
levels. All social groups mainly made up of women with
the aim to serve the community and women that are registered
with the civil affairs departments, applied for affiliation
with the women's federations and acknowledge the Constitution
of ACWF may become group members once approved by the
national or local women's federations.
NATIONAL LEADING BODY
The highest
power organ of ACWF is the National Women's Congress of
China. It is convened once every five years to deliberate
and decide on the guidelines, tasks and major issues of
national women's movement, review and endorse the work
report of the Executive Committee of ACWF, amend the Constitution
of ACWF and elect the Executive Committee of ACWF. |
